Position Announcement

The Dr Pepper Museum & Free Enterprise Institute in Waco, Texas seeks
a museum professional to serve as Programs Manager.  This full time staff
position works to leverage the museum's resources to support three
important constituencies: teachers, students, and families.  As the leader
of the Dr Pepper Museum’s Free Enterprise Institute, the Programs
Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships
with our key educational stakeholders.  These include: local school
districts; the Texas Education Agency; Baylor University; and McLennan Community College. 

He/She will lead and manage the museum’s efforts in providing quality programming to schools, outreach venues, adults, families, and children.  The Programs Manager is also responsible for the management of part-time tour guides and volunteers and coordinating with the Exhibit department to ensure the exhibits include appropriate educational opportunities.

The successful candidate will have these qualifications:

BA in Education, History, Economics, or Museum Studies

Strong communication and presentation skills

The ability to create new and exciting programs for targeted audiences

Well developed organizational skills and attention to details

Strong computer skills, MS Office, Internet, desktop publishing, and data base management

Knowledge of State of Texas learning standards and education reforms

Classroom teaching experience is desirable

Educational credentials at the Masters level is preferred
