Lighten up this summer at the Dr Pepper Museum!  Do you know the original name of Diet 7Up?  Or, what country consumes the most diet soda products per capita?  Come find the answers to these questions and learn more about your favorite soda’s low-cal version at the Dr Pepper Museum’s new exhibit, The Skinny on Diet Drinks.

Opening June 28, 2008, The Skinny on Diet Drinks explores the history behind some of the most noted and beloved diet soft drinks, such as early favorite Diet Rite and cult classic Tab. The exhibit will show how the soft drink industry has adapted diet drinks to fit consumer taste and health trends. Visitors will also learn information on the invention of artificial sweeteners, as well as why their use in drinks is hotly debated.

Each Friday afternoon in July (except July 4th) you can try the drinks yourself!  At 2pm there will be a blind taste test to find out which diet soda really is most like their original with the Dr Pepper Museum’s Diet Soda Taste Challenge!

The Dr Pepper Museum is located on the corner of 5th Street and Mary Avenue in downtown Waco.  It is open Monday through Saturday from 10 until 5, Sunday from Noon until 5.  The last ticket to the gallery is sold at 4:15.  For more information contact the Museum at 254.757.1024 or visit us on the web at www.drpeppermuseum.com.
